Learn to drive in Belgium

Today I passed my theoric driving license exam.

Done! I am really feeling great. In one week I’ll be allowed to drive alone.

I was really thinking I would never be able to drive but after these lessons with the auto school, I feel more comfortable.

I just love driving and look forward in going to the next lesson.

In 3 months, I’ll pass the practice exam.

So here are some information about the ways to learn to drive in Belgium:

For the theory:

- learn on your own with books and software called “Feu Vert” (50€) or with the “Touring” website (free, that’s how I have learned)

- go to an auto school giving lessons generally in the evening (60€)

For the practice:

-with a guide (8 years license minimum and 24 years old at least) during 18 to 36 months.

-with auto school, 6 hours practice lessons and 18 to 36 months with a guide (8 years license minimum and 24 years old at least)

- with auto-school, 8 hours basic lessons and how to park then 18 to 36 months with a guide (8 years license minimum and 24 years old at least)

- with auto-school 20 hours and 3 to 18 months without guide (that’s how I have learned).

My opinion: I can tell you driving is easy but 20 hours with the school is the best because they teach you the roads for the exam and give you tips not to make mistakes. Moreover after 20 lessons, you feel comfortable to drive alone.
See ya!
