Travelling to New York is quite easy. We’ve left Brussels with American Airlines. It took 8 hours to arrive at JFK. We had a lunck and a snack in the plane ( pasta or chicken and pizza). One thing is sure: when you arrive at JFK, you’re not hungry anymore!
The airhostess gave us the documents to fill in in order to enter the US and that was it.
We took the ecoconomy class but the business class seems really great! For about 100$ more, you have a “magic” adjustable seat ( you can sleep perfectly good) and a bunch of movies to watch. Then you can choose which menu you want. Really nice!
At JFK everything is easy. We got our luggages directly. We gave our fingerprints and had a visa control and were directly out.
As we were newbees we took the airtrain (we didn’t need to) and the train (subway) to Coney Island. Brighton Beach is unique: you can recognize it directly with the Keyspan Park – a baseball pitch where Bjork has done a concert a few years ago- and the old amusement park.
We live a couple of blocks away.
I’m suprised New York isn’t a loudy city. You don’t hear anything outside. You see a few people in the streets. It’s not crowded and the cars are really quiet and it doesn’t look that dangerous.
