When I heard about Broadway I could imagine the Theaters and shows. Yes, it is a part of Broadway, I would say close to Time Square, but the Broadway Street is much more than that!

At first, it is very long, going through all Manhattan. Then, you have Soho and Noho, the part of Broadway between Time Square and the Finacial District, you still follow? This place is for me the greatest Shopping area of NYC! You’ll find all the famous brends with sales all year long. It is really worth it.

Just take the train to Lafayette (you’ll see the Adidas store) and continue on Broaday till Time Square. It’s long, nice, great. It’s my spot! Visit the “yellow rat bastard”: perfect t-shirts!

We’ve been several times to Chinatown. All I can say is Americans don’t need to travel a lot to make movies about China. There is everything in Chinatown. The place isn’t nice at all. Its stinks, it is messy and dirty… yes you can find all the chinese products you need and the unquality clothes.

If you wish to discover another ambiance in New York, you just have to go there. Kings Highway looks like the russian jewish spot of New York City. After China town, Little Italy, you have Brighton Beach and Kings Highway for the russians.

There you’ll find russian (of course) grocery stores, Conway (a very cheap clothing store where you can’t unfortunately try clothes on), and nice boutiques. The boutiques are evru expensive but the collections are worth it

Today, I decided to go out and find a grocery store as close as possible from our house in Coney Island. The thing is, when you only have the subway as transportation, and when you don’t even know the name of the grocery stores in New York City, it can take a while to find what you want.

As everything is damn expensive here and as I see my neighbours are probably not working as traders in Manhattan, I’ve imagined there should be a cheap supermarkets in Brooklyn.

So we took the train and went to Antlatic Avenue. Above the Subway, there is an indoor shopping center. Revaz loves the place since he has discovered the music store. There you’ll find Victoria’s secret (lingerie), Target, a videogame store, shoestore and so on. In Target, we could really find all the ingredients I’m using generally for my “spaghetti bolognese” but I was already happy to enter a small supermarket.

On the way back home, in coney, we discovered a russian grocery store with great products. I’ve seen great caviar for 16$ and Bordjomi water. So all this expedition for nothing! Living in New York is nice, but you discover new spots everyday. The town is so huge…

The first evening, we went to the beach at 100 meters from our house. It’s nice and clean and there are many fishermen. In summer it might be nice. There is a big area to do rollerskate or you jogging…

The place looks totally russian. At Brighton Beach, most of the stores have their ads in english and russian. You see Ukrainians, Russians, Georgians and a few latinos and african american as they are everywhere.

One thing you’re getting used to it the Big Apple; here there is no place for racism.
